British Gas NER Senior and Youth Championships 2011
Over the weekend of April 30th and May the British Gas NER Youth and Senior Championships were once again held at Sunderland Aquatic centre where a small team of elite Rotherham Metro swimmers took part with two of the competitors reaching the finals.
Leading the way was eighteen year-old Simon Worne who reached the final of the 50M Breaststroke where he finished 8th and the final of the 100M Breaststroke where he also finished 8th. Seventeen year-old Charlotte Pearson was just touched out for the Bronze medal in the 50M Butterfly final coming home in 4th position. Swimming in the men’s 400M Medley team event and finishing in 9th position was Adam Parkes Simon Worne, Thomas Nelson and Aaron Waterhouse. Swimming in the men’s 400M Freestyle team event and coming home in a magnificent 5th position was Aaron Waterhouse, James Shiel, Adam Parkes and Simon Worne.
Other Metro Swimmers taking part in the event were; Jessica bushby, Kelsey Longden, Scott Mason, Emily Shone, Shannon Eades, Kimberley Bush and Nicole Clarke.
